How to Play Videos From Your Phone Directly on Your TV Screen.

by admin
Problem they say is the mother of invention.
Imagine if your smartphone was to have a HDMI port or an AV cable port, of course the size of our phones will increase greatly, thereby nullifying the popular name we call it, “handset”. But this does not mean that at some point we wouldn’t want to play some videos directly from our phone and display them on a large screen.
For instance, you’re about defending your final year project after schooling in a very stressful university for 5years and there’s a video you’re expected to display on screen, and your system just developed a strange fault where your HDMI port stopped working or your system crashed, having that video on your phone will be a great advantage and this is simply because you could simply just play the video or presentation as the case may be on the TV screen directly from your smartphone.
Oh Yes!!! Siincerely speaking, ignoring some certain technologies could cost you your progress, achievements and sometimes even your life. This why we are solely commited to bringing you news about emerging and already established technologies.
Technology aims at making life much more easier for us this is why MIRACAST technology was
made available for the execution of such a task.

What is Miracast?

Miracast is know as a wireless display standard that enables you display images, videos or presentation directly from your phone to your TV screen. At CES 2013 in Las Vegas, the Wi-Fi Alliance announced it and it was part of Android 4.2 and Windows 8.1. Not all devices(especially current Android versions) support the Miracast technology though.
The Miracast technology does not require a Wi-Fi signal to work. Instead, like Wi-Fi Direct, it creates its own network.

Requirements to use the Miracast technology:

• You need an Android device that supports Miracast or a Miracast app.
• Also, you need a TV that supports Miracast or a Miracast dongle( if your TV does not natively support Miracast then you’ll need a dongle)

How to connect:

1.Although a lot of smart TVs are Miracast enabled, inorder to connect a Miracast compatible Android device to your Television, firstly, you need to determine if your TV is Miracast compatible.
2. Secondly, turn on your screen mirroring.
3. Choose your TV from your Android’s device list and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Like I said earlier, if your TV is not Miracast compatible, you will need a dongle or a wireless display adapter,. If you’re using either of the aforementioned, follow the steps below:
• Plug in or connect your Miracast adapter to an open HDMI input on your TV.
• Change the input source on your TV to the adapter.
• Open the “wireless display” settings menu on your Android device and turn on the screen sharing feature.
• Choose the Miracast adapter from the displayed device list and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the set-up process.
Also, you may need to go through your adapter’s user manual for specific set up instructions or other steps during the set-up process.
Just Incase your Android device does not support the Miracast technology natively, don’t worry, here are some third party apps you could find on Google Play store and use in place of the native miracast feature:
1. LetsView
2. EZMira
3. EZCast
4. Airscreen
5. Castto
Technology truly is a gift to man kind. This information alone can truly save you from a whole lot of stress and dissapointments.
